They have their sweet moments, they have their steamy moments, they have their badass moments.they're everything and I love them. Poppy and Cas are such a strong couple-literally the power couple of my dreams. The romance is, of course, extraordinary. It picks up right where book 2 left off and takes off running. It doesn't take a few chapters to draw you in. From the very beginning, this book is interesting. His younger brother (our youngest son) is profoundly developmentally disabled: he's nearly eight years-old, appropriately sized, but cognitively, developmentally he is a baby. My nearly ten year-old smarty pants son read this early in the book, he set it down and turned to me, saying "you know how sometimes when you read a book and someone dies you really feel sad and need to take a break 'cause it's hard to keep going?" I replied "don't forget - I'm the person who cried during the opening scene of 'Hachi' and never stopped!" His essays are easy to read and convey their points with maximum efficiency. He is one of, if not the, finest writers of the English language for a reason. This is one of the best George Orwell books despite being one of the least-known. While Orwell’s take on his time in a Paris hospital with numerous poor people in squalid conditions is alarming. Cigarettes essay is a great look at one of the most common reasons people give for not reading and is one we should all consider. ![]() ![]() It may not sound like an exciting read, but Orwell has a way of turning topics which seem mundane into interesting essays. The titular essay is an interesting look at why people don’t read, while the others range from Orwell’s time working in a bookshop to his childhood at a boarding school.Īll of them present a fascinating insight into different aspects of society in the early 20th century.
